Last month, Money Marketing revealed Gosden had left L&G as part of a restructuring exercise. L&G pensions strategy director Adrian Boulding has also left the company.
MGM product and marketing director Peter Carter says: “Without doubt the coming year will be one of the most exciting times to be working for a company focussed on helping advisers and their clients in the retirement market.
“To attract someone of Tim’s experience at such a crucial time is a real coup for us.”
Having started his career at MGM in 1988, Gosden rose to become planning and propositions manager before departing for a role as head of product development for L&G’s retirement savings business in December 2004.
He took on his role as director of strategy for individual retirement solutions in July 2012.
Gosden says: “Having started my career in financial services at MGM, it feels right to be returning at a time when the market is witnessing significant change.
“The company has a clear strategy and compelling plans for product development and I look forward to working with colleagues to support advisers and their clients.”
