Former Aberdeen chairman passes away

Former Aberdeen chairman Charles Irby has passed away.

Irby was director and chairman of Aberdeen Asset Management from 1999 to 2009.

Aberdeen Asset Management chief executive Martin Gilbert says: “Charles had a hugely successful career and was then instrumental in helping to transform Aberdeen into a global asset manager.

“He was also very supportive during the bad times. Charles will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
