Focus funds performing well

Royal & Sun Alliance claims focus funds of concentrated portfolios are meeting investor expectations unlike technology, split capital and zero funds.

It says the performance of its UK Prime Fund over the past six months supports the view that aggressive stock picking does not need a bull market to prosper.

According to Standard & Poor this fund has appeared in the first percentile UK All Companies sector of 250 different funds.

RSA UK Prime Fund manager Mike Felton says: “The whole point of focus funds is to give fund managers the opportunity to move in and out of stocks quick enough to bank daily price movements.”

Bupa appoints doctor to business relationship post

Bupa has announced it is appointing Dr Natalie-Jane Macdonald to its newly created post of medical and heath care purchasing director responsible for clinical leadership in the PMI provider&#39s insurance business.Macdonald was previously head of health care policy and development and will now work on developing business relationships with hospitals and medical consultants.
