First stage of Credit Suisse acquisition complete

Aberdeen has completed the acquisition of Credit Suisse’s Asia Pacific ex Japan business. The deal is the first stage in Aberdeen’s acquisition of certain fund management assets and businesses from Credit Suisse.

The first closing was satisfied through the issuance of 32,526,196 Aberdeen new ordinary shares to Credit Suisse. As at March 31, 2009, the Asia Pacific business that will transfer to Aberdeen had assets under management of £7.1 billion.

The final closing – which consists of the completion of the rest of world target business – is expected to take place on, or about, June 30, 2009.
