Find clicks with 77% boost

Financial website directory saw a 77 per cent increase in the numbers of hits it received in the last quarter of 2000 compared with the previous year.

The directory says the total number of people clicking through from the Find site to linked finance product providers during the fourth quarter rose to 521,000 from 294,217 the previous year.

More people were looking for information on IFAs in 2000 than in 1999. During October to December 2000 the IFA category was the ninth most popular moving up from 12th in 1999. This is an increase of 110 per cent in people looking for an IFA.

The site also provides an IFA zone aimed at guiding advisers to product providers who have an IFA category on their own websites.

The most visited category in the fourth quarter of 2000 was motor insurance, with a 450 per cent growth in click throughs over 1999.

The Find site now has links to about 4,000 financial product providers. When the site was launched in 1996 it had just 300 links.

Find generates its revenue through advertising links and by charging product providers to have a details listed on its first page.

Business development dir ector Martin Brown says: “The quarterly data shows there has been excellent growth in motor, travel and household insurance.”
