Financial Express kicks off charity soccer tournament

Financial Express is gearing up for its second Soccer Sixes event to raise money for charity.

This year’s tournament will be in aid of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

The previous tournament raised more than 10,000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign and was won by financial information provider Telekurs.

Financial Express is inviting teams of both sexes to enter the tournament, which takes place at Finsbury Leisure Centre in North London on October 7. Budding soccer stars are asked to contact the company to offer their supportHead of marketing and communications Paul Wynne says: “The last tournament was great fun and, importantly, raised a significant sum for a good cause.

“This year, we are lining up against cruelty to children by supporting the NSPCC’s Full Stop Campaign, which we all agree is tremendously worthwhile. We are looking to recruit the support of the industry, which has shown great generosity of spirit time and again.”

The FSCS has declared 43 firms in default. The list of firms, available on the FSCS website at , includes Worcester based John Coverdale Associates, Stafford-based P D C Insurance Services and Kent-based Alder Broker Group.
