Finance4Women moves to M2

Leading all-female IFA firm Finance4Women has quit national and franchised IFA Millfield Partnership to join rival M2 Financial.

The four F4W partners walked out of Millfield last week citing a difference in strategy and a need to expand as the reason for their departure.

The Cambridge-based IFA will now act as a subsidiary of national firm M2 but will keep the Finance4Women brand. F4W&#39s four RIs bring M2&#39s total number of advisers to 22.

F4W was originally set up as a Millfield partner in March 2002 by former Fiona Price & Partners advisers Fiona Sharp, Catherine Haines, Karen Ritchie and Toni Chalmers.

Millfield was taking a share of the firm&#39s turnover in return for support services such as back office, IT and marketing. However, Ritchie says F4W did not feel it was able to grow the organisation and strengthen its brand in the way it wanted.

Ritchie says: “Unanimously, we felt the time was right to move to a more like-minded, forward-thinking young company. M2 was an obvious choice. We have watched its progress unfold in the last nine months and are very pleased to be working with Mark Howard and his team.”

M2 Financial managing director Mark Howard says: “Only 5 per cent of IFAs in Britain are female and we just acquired four of the most talented.”

Millfield declined to comment on the departure.
