An app aimed at helping advisers understand how retirement strategies will fare under different market conditions has completed a seed funding round, with backers including former Interactive Investor chief executive Adam Seale.
Timeline was set up by Finalytiq founder Abraham Okusanya last year in response to pension freedoms. It uses empirical research, asset class returns, inflation and mortality data to see how retirement strategies will perform.
As well as Seale, former adviser Jason Butler has also invested in Timeline. Both Seale and Butler have been appointed non-executive directors at the company.
Former chief executive of Willis International Tim Wright and US adviser Michael Kitces will also join Timeline’s advisory board.
Okusanya says: “We are incredibly excited by the opportunity to take Timeline to more advisers in the UK and the US. This capital and the invaluable guidance of our advisory board will enable us to do that much faster.”
