Fidelity special sits stays in the lead on FundsNetwork

Only one of Fidelity’s own funds made the top 10 best sellers on the firm’s FundsNetwork platform in 2004, down from five the previous year.

The special situations fund again topped the list and Fidelity as a group maintained its position as the top selling fund manager on FundsNetwork.

Invesco Perpetual and Liontrust were the next best selling groups. The former had three portfolios in the top 10, up from one last year, while Liontrust first income kept its top 10 position and rose from sixth to third.

The four best sectors were unchanged from 2003, with UK all companies, UK equity income, UK corporate bond and UK other bond taking the majority of sales. Cautious and active managed were among the fastest-growing sectors, moving up from eighth to fifth and 16th to 10th respectively, reflecting the growing popularity of fund of funds and multi-manager.

The top five sectors took 60 per cent of all inflows.
