Feilim Mackle and Steve Clode join Aegon

Aegon UK has announced the appointments of Feilim Mackle as director of individual business and Steve Clode as the director of marketing and customer strategy.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Aegon says Mackle will be responsible for leading the company’s retail life and pensions business, covering key product areas such as personal pensions, Sipps, individual protection and at-retirement solutions, including its annuities business and the 5 for life product.

Mackle was previously managing director of Royal Bank of Scotland’s retail banking division and is replacing Peter Dornan, who is moving across to the director of partnership and distribution development role.

Steve Clode also joins Aegon in a new executive level role where he will be responsible for brand development and marketing, including sponsorship strategy across all Aegon’s businesses.

Clode was previously marketing director at Nationwide Building Society, where he developed the Nationwide brand, including its ‘Proud to be Different’ positioning.

Aegon UK chief executive Otto Thoresen says: “I am delighted that two such high-calibre executives are joining Aegon and I look forward to working with them as we move forward with our plans for the UK market.”
