Feeney moves to Mellon as head of distribution

Former Gartmore head of distribution Paul Feeney has joined BNY Mellon Asset Management in the same role.

He will be responsible for wholesale sales and client services in the UK, Europe and Latin America and will lead the development and distribution of the firm’s onshore and offshore fund ranges. He will also head a push into central and southern Europe.

Feeney was a director at Gartmore and played a key role in the 2006 management buyout. He was previously chief executive of RBS Group’s branded private banks.

He quit Gartmore last November after his position came into question following the appointment of New Star’s Phil Wagstaff as global head of distribution in June.

BNY Mellon chief executive officer Alan Mearns says: “I am pleased to welcome Paul to our international management team. His industry experience and background will help us continue the growth of our asset management businesses in Europe.”

Feeney says: “BNY Mellon Asset Management’s unique multi-boutique model offers wholesale and institutional investors a range of world-class alpha strategies.”
