Feed the mortgage brokers

It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to
be afraid. It’s Christmas time, the FSA and most of the lenders have
no idea what is going on.

Oh, sorry, I thought it was Band Aid or perhaps Broker Aid.

Seriously, I have been in the industry for 16 long years – making a
total of 24 years in sales and marketing – and it is hard to believe
that any lenders want to do business at the moment, apart from First
Active.

As you may realise, I am proud of being independent and feel that the
recent events – M-Day, etc – should have highlighted this. However,
with various lenders insisting on minimum levels of business and some
refusing to do business with new firms, who is kidding who? Perhaps
the Consumers’ Association will pick up on this and put the industry
in a spin again.

Anyway, that aside, what about the Worst Lender Service Awards? It is
anyone’s guess who is going to win next year. I am afraid that
Northern Rock appears favourite to snatch the crown away from
Nationwide, However, Halifax seems to be keen to make its presence
known. And before anyone says: “We don’t have any problems with
them,” you need to work in the real world and speak to the brokers
that write the business.
