Fay Goddard to take over from Tim Eadon at PFS

Former Aifa deputy director general Fay Goddard is tipped to take over from Tim Eadon as chief executive of the Personal Finance Society, following the announcement of Eadon’s resignation yesterday.

Money Marketing understands that the Chartered Insurance Institute will officially announce Goddard’s appointment tomorrow.

Both the CII and Goddard were unavailable to comment.

Ex-PFS public affairs director John Ellis says Goddard will be able to bring a better understanding of regulation issues to the PFS.

He says: “They need to have someone who is more au fait with regulation than I think the current board members are. The PFS has been far too quiet on issues that concern advisers and hopefully Fay will be more vocal.”

Ellis says he thinks PFS members will welcome Goddard’s appointment.

He says: “She has a good track record in representing IFAs and I think it will be a popular move.”
