Ex-ZAN marketing chief poised to head revamped advice firm

Former Zurich Advice Network marketing director Kevin Ronaldson has been tipped to become the chief executive of the new-look Zurich UK advice operation once plans for its management structure have been finalised.

Ronaldson, along with Zan finance director Steve Colsell, is heading the steering group designing the structure of Zan, which is expected to be completed within a month.

An industry source has told Money Marketing that Ronaldson is set to be the new chief executive, beating current Zan managing director Andy Ferns to the job.

Zan will be hived off from Zurich UK and established as a separate company which could be floated. Current franchisees would sacrifice ownership of their businesses in exchange for a stake in the new business.

It follows Zurich&#39s announcement earlier this month that it plans to multi-tie its entire distribution business after depolarisation, combining market-leading products of its own with best of breed offerings from rival providers.

The source says: “Kevin and Steve&#39s involvement would suggest that there will be a substantial change of the management structure at Zan.”

Zurich spokesman Jon Atkins says: “We can confirm they are leading the implementation team along with Andy Ferns but there have been no decisions made yet about who will be fronting the new company.”
