A former Sesame adviser who pleaded guilty to stealing over £150,000 from blind and elderly clients has been jailed for 32 months at Carlisle Crown Court.
The News and Star newspaper reports Armstrong & Earl Financial Services adviser John Mark Earl took £68,000 from an elderly blind couple and £85,500 from another woman in her mid-sixties.
The court heard the victims viewed Earl as a friend but that he had “effectively cleaned them out” and took their life savings.
The paper reports Earl is now likely to be made bankrupt.
Earl was listed as a Sesame adviser until 2010 on the FCA register. Both he and his business are now listed as inactive.
