Former Mail on Sunday financial journalist Stephen Womack has started life as a financial planner after being hired by Northamptonshire-based firm David Williams IFAs.
Womack quit the Mail in January to begin training as a financial adviser and has written a number of Money Marketing articles charting his progress (see related stories).
Womack will work with clients to plan their finances as well as marketing and developing new business opportunities for the firm.
He is FCA registered and planning to take the necessary exams to reach chartered status.
Womack says: “It is exciting to be part of David Williams and to be advising clients face-to-face instead of helping them through the pages of the newspaper.
“As a firm of chartered financial planners, David Williams IFA is already operating at the highest level of advisers. Since joining I have been impressed by the commitment to professionalism throughout the firm and by the strong client relationships I have seen.”
David Williams IFA managing director David Sparrow says: “I am delighted that Stephen has joined us and that someone with his wide experience of financial services can appreciate the value we are adding for clients.”
