Ex-Cofunds marketing director Verona Smith joins 7IM

Former Cofunds marketing director Verona Smith has joined Seven Investment Management to head its platform business.

Smith joins 7IM after leaving Cofunds in May and following a spell working in an advisory capacity with The Platforum.

7IM chief executive Tom Sheridan says: “We are delighted someone of such recognised experience and talent in the industry has come to join the team at 7IM. Verona’s appointment is another key part of building a strong management team as the company grows into its next phase.”

Smith says: “The opportunity 7IM has in the marketplace is huge.

“Professional intermediaries value the strong service nature of the business, which puts 7IM in a leading position to enable it to service its clients to the highest standard.”

Following Legal & General’s acquisition of Cofunds in March this year, Cofunds has seen a number of senior departures in addition to Smith.

These include chairman Charlie Eppinger, chief executive Martin Davies, who is to lead Kames Capital, and head of operational services Stephen Mohan, who has joined Allfunds to head its UK platform.
