Ex-Cofunds chief Brett Williams joins SEI Wealth

Williams replaces Ryan Hicke, who has been promoted to senior vice-president.

Platform technology provider SEI has appointed former Cofunds chief executive Brett Williams as UK managing director.

Williams stepped down as Cofunds chief executive in July 2010, and has also held chief executive roles at Selestia and Skandia UK. He was most recently partner at LW2 Private Equity Partnership.

He replaces Ryan Hicke who will return to the US to take up an executive position with SEI’s private banks business.

SEI has also promoted UK solutions director Jim London to UK chief operating officer.

SEI executive vice president Joseph Ujobai says: “We are very pleased to welcome Brett to our team. He has a long history with SEI on the client side, is familiar with SEI’s culture, and will be a great addition to my leadership team.

“As UK solutions director, Jim has played an integral part in establishing and growing SEI’s UK private banks business over the past five years. We are confident that in his new role as chief operating officer, he will further strengthen SEI’s commitment to the UK market.

“I thank Ryan for his tremendous leadership in the UK and look forward to his return to the US as we expand the global rollout of the SEI wealth platform.”

Murphy Wealth partner Adrian Murphy says: “Brett Williams is coming to SEI with a lot of experience. He understands the adviser market, and has had a lot of experience at Cofunds and elsewhere, so it is a good appointment. “
