Ex-Aviva boss joins Old Mutual Wealth as consumer champion

Former Aviva UK Life chief executive David Barral has joined Old Mutual Wealth in the newly created role of independent customer champion.

Barral will feed into the company’s customer outcomes forum, which is part of its corporate governance structure.

He will work across the Old Mutual Wealth group including the platform, Intrinsic, Quilter Cheviot, Old Mutual Global Investors and Old Mutual International.

Barral is also a non-executive director at LV=.

Old Mutual Wealth chief distribution officer Richard Freeman says: “I’m excited we have been able to bring someone with David’s level of knowledge and experience into the business and my colleagues and I look forward to working with him to further develop and embed our customer-focused culture.”

Barral says: “I’m delighted to be joining Old Mutual Wealth’s customer outcomes forum at an exciting time for the business.

“It has an ambitious strategy and recognises the importance of a strong customer focus at the core of all its activities.”
