European investment trusts outperform UK says AITC

European investment trusts have outperformed UK investment trusts over the last 10 years, according to data from the Association of Investment Trust Companies.

The average European investment trust (including smaller companies) has turned £1,000 into £5,360 over the last 10 years, compared to £4,340 for the average UK investment trust.

AITC communications director Annabel Brodie-Smith says: “Europe provides access to the best of breed stocks across a wide area, and as the relationship between the UK and Europe continues to grow, a pan-European approach is becoming popular.”
