EU ministers lift minimum saver protection to 50,000 Euros

European Union finance ministers have agreed to lift depositor protection to a minimum of 50,000 Euros or £38,900.

The French finance minister Christine Lagarde confirmed the agreement today and reiterated members’ commitment to doing whatever is necessary to restore financial stability.
