Essex resident wins £1m in premium bonds draw

An Essex resident has become the 101st Premium Bonds millionaire by winning the August draw through the scheme.

The winning bond was worth £2,000 and bought in September 1999.

The winner was the sixth millionaire from Essex since the jackpot began in 1994.

Since the first prize draw in 1957, prizes worth £6.16bn have been awarded in 95.8m prizes.
