Equitable Life announces date for court case

Equitable Life&#39s test case in respect of guaranteed annuity rates will be heard in the High Court in the week beginning July 5 1999.


The life office is seeking confirmation that its approach towards guaranteed annuity rates is both proper and fair.


Managing director Alan Nish says: &#34We are pleased to have been able to secure an early date for the hearing of the court case. this will provide certainty for our policyholders with the minimum of delay.&#34
