Equitable chief executive faces MPs

Equitable Life chief executive Charles Thomson appeared before an all-party Parliamentary group last week to give details about the compromise scheme members are voting on.

The All Party Group on Occupational Pensions heard testimony from an Equitable representation about the current state of play at the troubled life office.

Chairman of the 70 strong group, Conservative MP John Butterfill said: “I believe that the plan as proposed represents the best way forward for policyholders and hope that in all their interests they will register a yes vote.”
