Engage Partnership founders split to launch new businesses

Consultancy Engage Partnership founders Chris Davies and Les Cantlay have split the firm and formed separate businesses.

Davies has now formed a new consulting firm, Engage Insight, which retains the former branding of Engage Partnership. He says the split of the business was amicable and was due to Davies and Cantlay wanting to focus on different areas of the business.

Davies will act as managing director for the firm with former Bluefin head of operations Niraj Vyas joining to become associate director.

The former client base will be split between the new Insight firm and another new firm being established by Cantlay.

Engage Insight is currently in talks with one potential new investor.

Davies says his firm is now also working with a number of bank advice arms which have recently become clients, and says his ambition is to build the firm to around eight to 10 staff.

He says: “Engage Insight is designed to provide creative support for business model change and people development strategies that enable retail financial firms to comply, compete and become truly client-centric in a whole new regulatory and consumer led environment.”

BDO: Number of S166s could hit 1,000 a year

The number of skilled persons reports ordered by the FCA could increase 10-fold to 1,000 a year, warns consultants BDO. Skilled persons reports, also known as section 166 reports, check for weaknesses or failings in a firm’s practices. The regulator orders these reports to be carried out where it has concerns, and firms have to […]

Liz Field: Enhanced team performance through effective management coaching

With the UK economy showing renewed growth, businesses that encourage and nurture their employees’ full potential will be ready for long-term success, with strong management teams, long-term employees and active corporate teamwork. Two increasingly, yet sometimes confused, forms of staff nurturing are mentoring and coaching. Both are increasingly accepted as important business tools, yet senior […]

Mike Thornton MP: From mortgage broker to Westminster

Mike Thornton had spent almost 15 years in the mortgage industry, working as a broker and lender, before being thrust into the media spotlight. Thornton’s introduction to national politics was not a gentle one. In February he was chosen as Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Eastleigh to succeed disgraced former cabinet minister Chris Huhne. Huhne, […]

Graham Bentley: Why rivals should follow Threesixty’s disclosure lead

Once upon a time (well, in the 1970s), before we were right royally regulated, unit-linked insurance companies were party to widespread depleting of skip-loads of investors’ monthly premiums via high margins, in turn funding coercively acquired commissions for often ignoble introducers. Many of these ‘businesses’ were actually roving “unaffiliated” sales teams – guns for hire […]
