End of an era

It is the end of an era this week as FSA chairman and chief executive Sir Howard Davies says goodbye to the regulator he has steered from its inception.

The colourful and often outspoken Davies leaves behind many memorable moments, recently promising there would be no retrospective misselling reviews and divulging that he is not a fan of price caps.

Respected and feared by IFAs in equal measure, Davies brought more change to the industry in his tenure than many had seen in their working lives.
