Elliot to stay at Wins

Simon Elliot has withdrawn his resignation from Wins Investment Trusts after accepting a new role as head of research.

Elliot had resigned, with former head of research Charles Cade and three other team members, to join rival broker Numis Securities.

Cade is understood to be on 12 months’ gardening leave, with sales director Chris Gook and corporate finance members David Benda and Nathan Brown also serving their own notice periods.

The team of four are to join Numis as the firm looks to make its first move into the investment trust sector.

Wins has already moved to replace them with the appointment of Darren Willis as senior sales director and James Brown as research analyst. Further additions are believed to be in the pipeline.

Elliot says: “The product that we have created at Wins is an extremely strong one. With Charles Cade leaving, the opportunity to head one of the biggest research teams in the UK in the sector was just too good to turn down. These departures will not affect the team and the clients we work with.”
