Eight top posts for NU in Morley deal

Norwich Union Investment Management staff have virtually swept the board,

securing eight of the top 12 positions at the newly integrated fund

management arm of life office giant CGNU.

CGU&#39s Morley and NUIM have been combined to form Morley Fund Management

through the merger of thelife offices.

The merger of the two investment arms means that Morley now has more than

£100bn under management.

Morley will be headed by former NUIM managing director Keith Jones in the

role of chief executive officer.

NU colleague Gerald Holtham becomes the new chief investment officer.

NU&#39s Gerard Quirke will head the retail investment fund operation, which

will continue to be known as Norwich Union Investment Funds.

Other top-level NU appointments include pan-European equities head Mark

Bishop, property investment headIan Womack, fixed-income head Martin Hall,

UK salesand marketing head Mark Skinner and head of product development

Jeremy Soutter.

Morley&#39s Peter Haynes becomes chief financial officer, Andrew Hitchings

heads international equities, fixed income is headed by Peter Rains and

Shirley Garrood is chief operating officer

Jones says: “The merger happened very quickly and without a glitch. Morley

and NUIM both had the same investment process and philosophy. We have equal

representation from both companies which reflects the best people in the

business and we will be building up our in-house research capabilities
