EFM&#39s Java Trust shows 32.2 per cent fall in 1998

Edinburgh Fund Managers&#39 Edinburgh Java Trust, which invests in Indonesia, has issued preliminary results for last year showing a decline of 32.2 per cent.


This compares with a decline in the benchmark index the Jardine Nusantara Index of 34.1 per cent.


The fund manager says the vast majority of the fall is a result of weakness against sterling.


It also believes that the outlook for Indonesia remains uncertain.
