Edinburgh seminars focus on US

Edinburgh Fund Managers is to hold a series of roadshows to promote US investment opportunities in the wake of Isas.

The seminars have been set up by the fund manager because Isa rules give investors greater investment opportunities in the US, Japan, the Far-East and Latin America compared with Peps.

Peps rules required clients to invest in UK or European securities but Isa rules allow investment worldwide.

The seminars will focus on the US market which represents 52 per cent of the world stockmarket capitalisation. They start on May 20 in London before moving on to St. Albans, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham the following week.

Sales & marketing director Nigel Whittingham says: “Many investors need to rebalance their portfolios away from Europe and the UK.

“The US represents a good opportunity. There is still scope for performance despite the US being expensive in certain sectors.”
