Eden sets up retail fixed-income portfolio

Eden Financial plans to launch a strategic fixed-income offering early next year and is recruiting a new manager for the fund.

Credit fund manager Thomas Leah runs a fixed-income portfolio for a private client but the firm does not offer a retail fixedincome fund.

Eden Financial head of asset management Ed Rosengarten says: “We need to hire a head of credit research to work alongside Leah. The appointment will be announced in a few months.

“We will launch a fixed-income fund for the two managers in the early part of next year. It will be a strategic credit fund and I want the fund to be unconstrained. That will give us a very good fund range covering equities, credit and multi-strategy.”

Leah joined Eden in May 2009 from Citi Alternative Investments where he spent five years trading fixed-income securities and derivatives for the global credit structures division.

Former M&G head of equities Rosengarten joined Eden Financial in February and former Gartmore managers Leigh Himsworth and Dan Roberts joined in July.

Himsworth will launch the CF Eden UK select opportunities fund in September and Roberts will launch the Eden global equity fund in October.
