Eagle Star won&#39t reveal growth rate

Eagle Star is refusing to tell IFAs the original growth rates used to calculate their clients&#39 endowment policies.

IFAs claim Eagle Star has responded to them in writing, saying: “We do not hold the original growth rates on file. The original seller of each policy should be able to obtain this information.”

IFAs believe the rates were overestimated which has led to clients increasing premiums dramatically. They claim the company fears further criticism.

Harris Investment Management principal Alan Harris says: “It is outrageous that Eagle Star is not keeping its original growth rates on file. It could work out what the original rate was but it is too afraid of the consequences.”

Eagle Star spokeswoman Debi Isaac says: “Eagle Staris not afraid of the original growth rate predictions. All illustrations to customers have used assumptions describedby Lautro and were considered realistic at that time.”
