Eagle Star starts web pension platform

Eagle Star has introduced a new e-business pension platform which will provide corporate clients with the opportunity to control corporate pensions over the web.

The platform will give employers, employees and IFAs direct access to pension details online. The system will allow the parties to make online changes, monitor fund performance and fund valuations, switch funds or arrange personal illustrations.

Eagle Star pensions marketing director Tony Reardon says: “With the internet shouldering much of the transaction burden and employees taking greater control of their own arrangements, employers and IFAs will appreciate the greater ease with which a corporate pension scheme can be administered.”

ScotEq roadshow survey reveals little enthusiasm for IPAs

Individual pension acc ounts could prove to be an embarrassing white elephant for the Government, according to research by Scottish Equitable among IFAs. Just 17 per cent of the 1,750 advisers surveyed by ScotEq at its nationwide roadshows in November believe the Government&#39s proposed pension account will provide a valuable addition. IPAs are scheduled to […]

Broker ban in multi-tie start

Money Marketing revealed last December that franchi […]

The trial judge, Mr Justice Evans-Lombe, yesterday gave the detailed reasons for his decision. He accepted the idea that policyholders&#39 realistic expectations that they […]

Tories pledge to adopt McDonald annuity plans

A Conservative Government would adopt the proposals of former Labour social services spokeswoman Dr Oonagh McDonald as part of sweeping reforms of the annuity rules. The McDonald report, written by the former regulator and prominent Labour MP last year, says people should only be obliged to purchase an annuity that secures a sufficient level of […]

Partied out and penniless

December has left me destitute. My piggy bank lies broken and empty, my lunchtime meal deal feels like an extravagant expense and I’m down to the Bountys in my box of Celebrations. But I won’t mourn my dearly departed pennies. Between buying gifts for loved ones (then deciding to keep them for myself) to treating […]
