DWP pilots IFA pensions advice in workplace

All employees should be given access to advice on pensions if no pension contribution is offered says secretary of state for works and pensions Andrew Smith.

Launching a new pensions information pack for employers, Smith said the DWP had launched a pilot where six IFA firms are offering advice to employees who are not offered a contribution to a pension.

Smith said: “We have new powers in the Pensions Bill to require firms not offering pensions to offer their employees advice – powers we will consider invoking.”
