Dentons looks to buy Sipp firms

Dentons Pensions Management is on the acquisition trail and is holding talks with a Sipp provider. Dentons has launched two new products, the flexible pension scheme Sipp which allows the use of scheme pension and a lower-cost single-portfolio Sipp.

Business development manager Martin Tilley says: “We are interested in buying a like-minded business which offers a similar range of Sipp investments, good quality service and a similar price to us.

“We have chosen potential targets based on their features and services. We are meeting with one firm that looks like it fits the bill.”

The new flexible pension scheme Sipp allows people to guarantee their scheme pension for up to 10 years.

Dentons says this eases the tax burden which would be applicable on the death of clients aged over 75 as a significant portion of the pension will be used before tax is levied.

The single-portfolio Sipp is a simplified Sipp for investors who want to create a single, lower-cost bespoke, discretionary portfolio.

The company says the product will be managed by specialist portfolio managers operated within a default high-interest cheque account.
