Defaqto appoints new chairman

Defaqto Group, the owner of research company Defaqto and finance portal, has appointed Rupert Pennant-Rea as chairman.

Pennant-Rea, former editor of The Economist and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, is now chairman of Henderson Group and director of several other companies.

Defaqto Group is backed by FF&P Private Equity Limited, the private equity division of Fleming Family & Partners, and Electra Quoted Management, part of the Electra Partners Group.

Defaqto Group CEO Kenn Herskind says: “I am delighted that Mr Pennant-Rea has decided to join us as our new Chairman. He brings great experience in both finance and media, and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Pennant-Rea comments: “Defaqto has already made great progress in the digital marketing of financial services, and I look forward to helping it fulfil its potential.”
