Deals for home insurance

Home and contents insurance provider Uinsure has struck distribution deals with Positive Solutions, Tenet, Money Portal, Openwork and Intrinsic.

It believes its panel of five insurers will allow advisers to earn more while meeting the challenges of a difficult market and increased regulation. It says that because home and contents policies are renewed each year, they provide a longer-term income stream, with the average policy lasting around five years.

Uinsure has now signed up a total of 2,878 firms, including 1,150 DAs.

Chief executive Simon Taylor says increasingly it will not be enough for advisers to offer one contract for home and contents. The panel offers products from Axa, Groupama, Fortis, Lloyds TSB and Equity Red Star.

He says: “We believe Uinsure is offering a next-generation model for the market. It offers a choice of insurers, provides a top quality single-wording policy document and a good audit trail of demands and needs.”
