Davis will take up his new position in December, leaving Sesame to face depolarisation with Assureweb CEO and Sesame strategy director Charles Bryant filling his position.
Davis’s role at Zurich will see him reporting to David Sims, CEO of Zurich’s UK life insurance business.
ZIL provides life, pension and investment products and services to corporates and expatriates across the world.
Davis’ departure follows several high-profile moves in the industry.
Bryant says: “The commercial team has achieved a huge amount. We are working with a number of providers, members and consumers on our multi-tie proposition which is in the final stages.”
Davis says: “I was not looking to leave Sesame. There are a lot of good things going on there, for example, the business will demerge from Misys at some stage, and depolarisation lies ahead. However, I could not turn down the opportunity at Zurich.”
Sesame chief executive Patrick Gale says: “Martin has made a significant contribution and has helped us focus on the needs of customers and in delivering propositions of real value.”
