Curtis Banks swoops for Hornbuckle director

Richard Valentine

Sipp provider Curtis Banks has appointed rival Hornbuckle’s operations director Richard Valentine as chief operating officer.

Prior to working at Hornbuckle, Valentine was chief operating officer and then managing director for Bristol at Sipp firm James Hay.

Curtis Banks chief executive Rupert Curtis says: “Having originally recruited Richard into the Sipp industry some years ago, I am delighted that he is now joining the team at Curtis Banks.

“Curtis Banks joined the Aim market in May to support its growth strategy.  Our ambitions require us to build a strong infrastructure to support the future growth of the group.

“Recruitment of such a senior industry figure confirms our development as a leading Sipp provider and speaks volumes for our intentions.”

Interim results published in September show the firm’s pre-tax profits soared by 82 per cent, to £2.1m, in the first six months of the year.

The provider is also planning to launch a “short-term” drawdown product to meet savers’ demands for flexibility following the pension freedoms.
