CSC to praise regulation of CMCs

The Claims Standard Council will praise the Ministry of Justice for regulating the claims management sector at the trade body’s annual conference in Manchester tomorrow.

Chairman Darren Werth will tell delegates that although the reputation of claims management companies “have been dragged through the mud, in some cases with great justification” this should not mean that they all are tarnished with the same brush.

Werth says: “The Government has successfully removed the cowboys from the industry. That is good news for the legal sector, insurance sector, the government but above all the claimant.”

He will also highlight the contribution that CSC members are making in tackling fraud and in helping to develop new business models ahead of the proposed governments claims process reforms.
