Credit Suisse targets post venture capital

Credit Suisse Asset Management is introducing the global post-venture capital fund.

The fund is aimed at UK investors who are looking for growth in global funds and who are prepared to put up with medium to high risk.

Global post-venture capital will invest in a wide portfolio of up to 130 global post-venture capital stocks. These are companies across a wide variety of sectors that have been launched on a venture capital basis but which are now quoted on stock exchanges and have achieved growth and stability. The fund will invest in companies that have been on the market for up to ten years.

Although the fund is high risk, the wide spread of companies and sectors does add a degree of stability because if some sectors go down, others will rise.

According to Standard & Poor’s the Credit Suisse Growth fund is ranked 28 out of 236 funds, based on £1,000 invested on a bid-to-bid basis with gross income reinvested over three years to October 9, 2000.
