Cracknell joins Skandia as strategy director

The Skandia UK and Offshore Group has announced the appointment of Michelle Cracknell as its new strategy director.

Skandia says Cracknell will head up a dedicated strategy team and will draw on resources from all of Skandia’s operating businesses to ensure the company is well positioned to benefit from regulatory and market driven developments.

Reporting directly to CEO Nick Poyntz-Wright, Skandia says the strategy function is key to enabling it to continue to build its UK and offshore business.

Cracknell joins Skandia from Origen, part of the AEGON group, where she was a main board director.

Poyntz-Wright says: “I am delighted Michelle is joining us as she has a wealth of experience and knowledge that is ideally suited to this challenging role. Our aim is to be the leader in open architecture and investment solutions across all the markets in which we operate.

“To do this we need to ensure our strategy is in line with market forces, including the impact of new and proposed regulations such as the retail distribution review. We’re in a dynamic market place and it is quality strategic planning that will ensure we remain in front of our competitors.”
