Prudential head of protection proposition development Paul Cowman has resigned after four years at the life office.
Cowman is understood to have resigned last week because he has been offered a bigger role elsewhere.
He was part of the team that launched Prudential’s new severity-based critical illness product to IFAs six months ago and whole of market a few weeks ago.
The flexible protection plan’s marketing strategy was criticised by leading figures in the industry last week for exaggerating the number of declined policy claims by up to twenty times the actual number.
Cowman has 27 years of experience in the life assurance industry having previously worked at AMP, Pearl Assurance and NPI.
Prudential spokesman Steve Colton says: “Paul has done a fabulous job here and we are sorry to see him go.”
