Cowley takes on OMAM strategic bond funds

Old Mutual Asset Managers head of fixed interest Stewart Cowley has taken over as manager of the group’s global strategic bond and dynamic bond funds.

Cowley replaces Richard Stevens as lead manager on the global strategic bond fund, with Stevens continuing to work on the fund as well as his segregated mandates.

OMAM has yet to comment on what role, if any, that former dynamic bond fund manager Chris Palmer has at the firm.

Cowley joined the firm earlier this month from Newton Investment Management where he was manager of the £725m Newton international bond and £510m BNY Mellon global bond funds. The group initially announced his appointment in late 2008, after making former head of fixed interest Andrew Tunks redundant.
