Coutts finance director quits

Coutts & Co UK finance director Gavin Frost has left the business after three years.

Frost had been with Coutts since November 2010 but left the firm in December to take up another role in the industry.

Previously, he was finance director at Coutts’ parent, Royal Bank of Scotland Inter-national, and held numerous roles at Abbey.

Coutts has replaced Frost with RBS Group Treasury global head of capital planning Brian Mulholland, who has also spent time as chief administration officer and deputy chief financial officer for the firm.

Prior to joining RBS, Mulholland was head of treasury finance at Nationwide Building Society.

A Coutts spokeswoman says: “Gavin left Coutts & Co in December to take up another role elsewhere within the ind-ustry. We have appointed Brian to take over the role following Gavin’s departure.”

Syndaxi Chartered Financial Planners managing director Robert Reid says: “The role of finance director at any advice business, particularly one the size of Coutts, is becoming more and more important.

“This is only going to increase once the capital adequacy rules are implemented. It is not a role to be taken lightly.”
