Cornell joining FSA an analyst

Industry consultant and Money Marketing columnist Jonathan Cornell is joining the FSA as an analyst in its retail intermediaries and mortgage sector team.

Cornell, who will take up his new role in January, has more than 16 years experience in the sector. Most recently as a consultant, Cornell has worked with London IFA First Action Finance as head of communications, 3D Currency Management, Colleys and Woolwich.

Prior to that, he was Hamptons International Mortgages’ managing director from August 2007 to February 2009.

Cornell says: “I am looking forward to starting at the FSA, it is a new challenge and I am excited by this opportunity.”

Emba group sales and marketing director Mike Fitzgerald says: “He has a lot of knowledge and integrity. I think he will bring a great deal to the FSA and I am glad the regulator has taken on someone like Jonathan.”

Coreco director Andrew Montlake says: “It is good for intermediaries to have someone with his experience at the FSA.”
