Cooper strikes distribution deal with City Financial

Industry veteran Patrick Cooper’s new venture Harrington Cooper has been signed up to distribute City Financial’s multi-manager funds though IFAs.

Cooper, formerly head of retail at JO Hambro Investment Management and Axa, will act as an introductory appointed representative of City Financial.

The company’s diversified absolute return fund, managed by North’s John Husselbee, will shortly be joined by other new funds. City Financial says its fund range will expand through acquisition and new launches.

Cooper will promote City Financial’s single asset class funds to the higher end of the market, including discretionary fund managers, while marketing the multi-manager funds to the wider investment market through independent advisers.

City Financial chairman Rob Hain says: “One of the things is expectation that our funds will attract the attention of early adopters – advisers who want to get in early. We thought through the kind of introducer to advisers and clients that we wanted.

“Patrick’s background and the type of advisers he has worked with lends itself to this. He has the skills of a salesman so when our products become seen as more mainstream – not because they will change but because investors will be more aware of their attractiveness – he will be able to expand sales and broaden our market.”

Although […]
