Concern over qualifications

I read with interest the article in last week’s Money Marketing relating to the requirement for Scottish Equitable to pay “compensation” in connection with inappropriate pension advice given in the presence of one of its staff. I could find no mention of whether the independent adviser or, indeed, the Scottish Equitable employee held the G60.

I presume that this would have been a very material point when the matter was investigated.

If either of them did not, then I trust that past business handled by them is also being reviewed where a transfer from a defined-benefit scheme was involved.
