Communications chief McMeehan quits Autif to set up consultancy

Autif director of communications Anne McMeehan is to leave the trade body to set up a financial consultancy business.

McMeehan is teaming up with Jain Castiau to launch the firm, Cauldron Consulting, in the new year.

Castiau was formerly a managing director of UBS Warburg&#39s European e-business services.

The new company will offer communications and marketing consultancy services for a number of different financial services businesses, including fund management firms. McMeehan, who has been at Autif for four-and-a-half years, will leave at the end of the year but will not be directly replaced.

McMeehan says: “I wanted to get back into the commercial side of funds. But working at Autif for four-and-a-half years or so means I have got too great an insight into individual management companies. I think they may have found it awkward if I was to work for one of those companies.

“The reputation of the company we set up will be based on how we are perceived by the industry. Where we think we have the edge on others is that we have years of experience working in-house.”

PlanInvest joint managing director Mike Owen says: “She has been a very important figure working tirelessly in promoting unit trusts and the role they need to play in people&#39s savings.”
