Collins appointed to New Star Tri-Star unit trust

Edward Collins has been appointed to manage the equity portion of the New Star Tri-Star unit trust.

He will initially co-manage the fund with existing manager Stephen Wittaker and will assume full responsibility by the end of 2007.

Collins previously worked as lead manager of the New Star UK dynamic fund, a sub-fund of the New Star Dublin Oeic.

Wittaker will focus his time on his responsibilities as New Star’s joint chief investment officer and manager of both the New Star UK Growth Fund and the New Star equity income unit trust.

Wittaker says: “I have worked closely with Edward for a number of years and he has proven to be an excellent fund manager. The performance of the UK dynamic fund under his management has been strong and I believe his considerable talent will benefit the New Star Tri-Star unit trust and its investors.”
